Sunday Morning with Pastor Henderson - "What Shall I Give Unto The Lord" - 10/16/16

What Shall I Give Unto The Lord

Scriptures

1 Samuel 13:14
14 But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.

Psalms 116:12-13
12 What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?
13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.

John 15:13
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

John 14:15
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Psalms 116:14
I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.

Main Points

Do you love Him?

To give of yourself] your time, worship, and praise.

To always be faithful.

Sunday with Pastor Henderson - "Be Ready to Fight" - 10/2/16

Scriptures

Ephesians 6:10-13
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Main Points

If you don't obey God, you are incapable of fighting.

God will tell you what to do, but you have to listen to Him.

How are you going to win the fight if you can't hear what he says and obey his Word?

If you don't pray or read the Word of God and don't come to church, you don't stand a chance against the enemy.

The enemy is stronger than you alone. That's why the Word of God has to be your foundation. Otherwise you will not be able to stand.

We need to stop paying so much attention to the world and turn our attention towards God.

The reason you will fail is because of you. It's up to you to stay with God.

The devil will always be the devil.  It isn't going to be his fault. It will be yours because you didn't make up your mind to obey God.

The devil will have his way with you.  So unless you put your guard up and focus every day on getting closer to God, you will not make it.

You need to make God your everything. Then and only then will you be able to stand up to the enemy. It starts with coming to church faithfully!

Suday Morning with Pastor Henderson - "Stay In Him" - 9/25/16

Scriptures

John 15:1-7

1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every [branch] that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Main Points

The answer to life's problems and goals lies in a proper reverance for God who is perfect in all his being and actions.
We need to not just confess God, but to surrender everything to Him by letting him truly be God in every area of our life.
Stay in Him and he can help you.
But if you separate from Him, then you are on your own.

Sunday Morning with Pastor Henderson - "God's Divine Preparation" - 9/18/16

God's Divine Preparation - 9/18/16

Scriptures

1 Corinthians 10:13
13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

1 Corinthians 2:9
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Isaiah 64:4
4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.

Psalms 23:5
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Psalms 31:19
19 Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!

Matthew 22:1-5
1 And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,
2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.

4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise.

Matthew 25:34
34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

John 14:2-3
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Main Points
  • Overflowing Blessings
  • Spiritual Feast
  • Glorious Inheritance
  • Heavenly Home

God already has a path written for you, but if you choose not to follow him, you will never see the end of it.
In order to go down God's path, you have to obey Him.
You write your own life story when you go off on your own.
You can either walk with Him, or without Him. It's your choice.

Sunday Morning with Pastor Henderson - "Keep His Commandments" - 9/4/16

Scriptures

John 14:15
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

1 John 2:3-4
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

John 8:31-32
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Deuteronomy 6:5
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Mark 12:30
30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

1 John 5:3
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

2 Kings 13:14-25
14 Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.
15 And Elisha said unto him, Take bow and arrows. And he took unto him bow and arrows.
16 And he said to the king of Israel, Put thine hand upon the bow. And he put his hand upon it: and Elisha put his hands upon the king's hands.
17 And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the Lord's deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.
18 And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed.
19 And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice.
20 And Elisha died, and they buried him. And the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year.
21 And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.
22 But Hazael king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.
23 And the Lord was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect unto them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence as yet.
24 So Hazael king of Syria died; and Benhadad his son reigned in his stead.
25 And Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael the cities, which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times did Joash beat him, and recovered the cities of Israel.

1 John 2:5
But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

Main Points

A half-hearted effort will not bring you complete victory.

If you listen to what the Man of God says, you can be delivered for the rest of your life.

Don't worry about pleasing others. Please God; and you will be blessed.

Keep his commandments!

Sunday Morning with Pastor Henderson - "We Are Living in a Desperate Time" - 8/28/16

We Are Living in a Desperate Time

Scriptures

2 Timothy 1:6
Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

Mark 2:1-12
And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.
And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.
And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.
And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
But there was certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?
And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?
Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?
10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)
11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.
12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

Matthew 15:22-28
22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.
28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

Main Points

Desperate times mean desperate actions.

We need to have the mindset that we don't care what anyone else says: I'm going to Heaven no matter what. For we do not care what anyone thinks. We won't let anything stop us. We will do desperate things. For we will gladly give up dignity for an encounter with Jesus.

Desperation is saying that God can do it. When you don't see a way, but you put all your faith in God.

When you fully rely and trust in God, that is desperation.

When you will do anything God says: Whatever your will is Lord, I will go.

Being desperate is staying faithful to God, no matter what the situation will be.  Trusting that God will deliver you and take of you until the end. When you turn to him for help instead of relying on your own understanding or the understanding of the world.

You have to have a deep commitment.

Sunday Morning with Pastor Henderson - "Fight for the Faith" - 8/14/16

Fight for the Faith

Scriptures

Jude 1:1-5
1  Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:
2  Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.
3  Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
4  For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
5  I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

Main Points

1. Challenge - Be ready to fight for what you believe in.
- The way you are willing to fight for your worldly possessions should be the same, if not greater, than the way you should fight for your faith in Jesus Christ.

2. Consequences - If you don't contend for the Word of God, you will fall for anything.

3. Characteristics - You can't live for God any old way, you have to obey the Word of God.
