Consistency
Scriptures
Psalms 33:11
11 The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
Jeremiah 29:11-13
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Mark 13:13
13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Luke 16:13
13 No
servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and
love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other.
Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Colossians 1:16-18
16 For
by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in
earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or
principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18 And
he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the
firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the
preeminence.
Galations 6:9
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Main Points
Consistency is being consistent, steadfast, and unmovable.
Consistency should be based on trust in God, because it develops a life that is not easily shaken.
You can't have two masters, so there shouldn't be anything keeping you from serving God. If there is, then you need to get rid of it.
If you are not doing what God has called you to do, then you are not consistent with God.
If you are not consistent with God, then you will find yourself going backwards.
