Crumbs

On Thursday, June 9, Brother Darin Sargent taught on "Crumbs."

Scripture(s):

Matthew 15:21-28
21 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, [thou] Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast [it] to dogs.
27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.
28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great [is] thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

What is a Witness?

On Tuesday, June 7, Elder Henderson taught on "What is a Witness."

Scripture(s):

Acts 1:8
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Isaiah 43:10-12
10 Ye [are] my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I [am] he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
11 I, [even] I, [am] the LORD; and beside me [there is] no saviour.
12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when [there was] no strange [god] among you: therefore ye [are] my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I [am] God.

1 Peter 2:9
9 But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Exodus 34:30-35
30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.
31 And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them.
32 And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai.
33 And [till] Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face.
34 But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel [that] which he was commanded.
35 And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

Matthew 17:3-4
3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

1 Corinthians 10:11
1 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Points of Power

On Thursday June 2, 2011, our church was blessed to have two awesome guest speakers, Brother Ron Block and Sister Joyce Block from Perris, California.

Sister block shared the testimony of her miraculous and complete recovery from cancer.  If you would like to listen to her inspirational words of encouragement and wisdom, please click here.

Brother Block taught on "Points of Power for Spiritual Growth", some simple but incredibly relevant points to live by that most of us take for granted.  He starts and ends this message by declaring: "I believe we're in the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing."  He also offers some sage advice: we should be more like a thermostat and less like a thermometer.  A thermometer can only go up or down according to its surroundings.  A thermostat sets the temperature and is in control of things around it.  The following points will help you set the correct temperature in your walk with God.

His points are:
  1. The power of putting things in motion - "Remember, you're never ready to do what you want to do, you just have to get out there and do it, and as you're doing it, the Holy Ghost can correct you and guide you much like a guided missile."
  2. The power of repentance - We need to subtract before we can add things to our spiritual walk.
  3. The power of trials, adversities, and problems - Count it all joy.  The issues of life can be the very making of you.
  4. The power of setting the course, vision, or goal -  You are responsible for setting the course, but God is responsible for giving you the steps to fulfil your goals.
  5. The power of your words - Life and death, success and failure, lie within the power of your words.
  6. The power of the Holy Ghost - Let the Holy Ghost guide you as you "STRIVE" to become better.
    • Start small
    • Think tall
    • Reach over the walls in your life
    • Invest your all
    • Vision it all
    • Expect it all to happen
    1. The power of the past - Forgive yourself of past mistakes and move on.
    2. The power of hope - Hope can mean a wish or a dream, but it can also mean something much stronger, expectations.
    3. The power of God in your life - Seek the kingdom of God first and He will take care of everything else.
    4. The power of understanding - Instead of trying to be understood, get understanding, and with understanding the word of God will open up for you.

    Forgiveness

    On Sunday, May 29, Pastor Molander taught on "Forgiveness."

    Scripture(s):

    Mark 11:22-26
    22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
    23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
    24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive [them], and ye shall have [them].
    25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
    26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

    Dead to Sin

    On Sunday, May 22, Pastor Molander taught on "Dead to Sin."

    Scripture(s):

    Romans 6:11-13
    11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
    12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
    13 Neither yield ye your members [as] instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members [as] instruments of righteousness unto God.

    Your Decision

    On Tuesday, May 17, Elder Henderson taught on "Your Decision."

    Scripture(s):

    Ecclesiastes 1:9-14
    9 The thing that hath been, it [is that] which shall be; and that which is done [is] that which shall be done: and [there is] no new [thing] under the sun.
    10 Is there [any] thing whereof it may be said, See, this [is] new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.
    11 [There is] no remembrance of former [things]; neither shall there be [any] remembrance of [things] that are to come with [those] that shall come after.
    12 I the Preacher was king over Israel in Jerusalem.
    13 And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all [things] that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith.
    14 I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all [is] vanity and vexation of spirit.

    Romans 5:8
    8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

    The Pendulum of the Soul

    On Sunday, May 15, Brother Jay Manos taught on "The Pendulum of the Soul."

    Scripture(s):

    Psalms 57:6-7
    6 They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen [themselves]. Selah.
    7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.
